Said Alwaely

Born in the holy city of Najef, Iraq in1953. In 1993, he arrived to America as a political refugee. He has been living in Detroit, Michigan for about ten years. He started writing and translating  poetry in 2004. Later most of his poems were published in more than fifty Arabic newsletters and websites. He won the 2006 Poetry Ambassador from Poetry.com and they published two of his poems with poems from other great Poets in two books.
